Human Body

Dear Mum, Dad and Miss Hinds,

My overall wondering for my human body project was ‘When you digest food, what parts of the body does the food travel through’.

Three interesting facts that I learnt whilst completing this project was….

– A body part that the food goes through to digest is the oesophagus

– To fully digest food, it can take more then 3 hours to do so

-You have a small intestine and a large intestine, not just one overall intestine.

I don’t really need to learn anything else because I pretty much learnt everything I wanted to know during the researching time frame.

Grade 6 transition day reflection

Dear Mum, Dad and Miss Hinds,

In our first transition day, we went to Queen of Peace. The main things or events that occured was meeting new friends, getting to know what high school is like and we also watched a fish market video. The main purpose of that was how to stay postive, and even though you may not like something, you will always have friends around you, and there is always a way to be positive. The video was also about friendship.

In our second transition, it was at our school. It was a trivia. The main things or events that occured was meeting new friends, testing our brains so they are ready for high school and having fun.

In our third transition, it was again, at our school. The main things or events that occured was meeting new friends, having fun, playing sport, doing art and being able to communicate. We also had pizza after.

After all these transition days, I enjoyed meetingnew friends because it tells me that next year, I dont have to worry about making new friends.

These transition days helped me to prepare for high school by making new friends so next year, I know people and also knowing how high school works, so I am not scared or stressed.

I am feeling very nervous and anxious, but I am also feeling excited. I am most nervous about homework, and not getting it done on time.

Maths week 7

shapes and categories

angles maths week 7

Dear Mum, Dad and Miss Hinds,

For maths week 7, we had a range of games. I chose 2 games from 2 categories that I was comfortable with but thought I could get better at. The first one I played was an angle and protractor game. You had to measure the angle accurately with the protractor given, and then write the exact angle in a box. I learnt how to use a protractor accurately. Look at the top of this post for a screenshot called angles maths week 7.

The last game I played was a  shapes game. You had a whole range of different shapes, and you had to divide them up into categories. I learnt names of different shapes like scalene and equilateral and stuff. Look at the top of  this post for a screenshot called shapes and categories.

Maths week 7

polygon game

Dear Mum, Dad and Miss Hinds,

For hw we had to play three games. I played all of them. But there was one that I liked best which was a polygon game. You had 12 shapes and you had to put each shape into a category. The categories were regular polygon, not a polygon, quadrilateral and not quadrilateral. I felt like taking a screenshot of the game so go to the top of this post, click on the link and you will see the game that I played.
